Spotting a 3 feet wide ray while swimming in Hong Kong got me into snorkeling 6 years ago and I became a certified scuba diver in 2002. Recently in Hong Kong, I had noticed an increase in quantity and variety of marine lives. However, when I described the creatures I saw to my wife, who was a more experienced scuba diver and thought that diving in Hong Kong was boring, she was often skeptical of my sightings. Two months ago I got a digital camera and started taking U/W photos as proof and the result was great - my wife urged me to take her along on the next outing! A picture does speak a thousand words.
