Being a NAUI diving instructor, I enjoy training divers as well as teaching underwater photography. By teaching divers how to dive safely and technically, I hope they will learn how to appreciate and preserve the marine lives. Underwater photography enables me to capture the beauty of the underwater world from every angle on film. Over these years, I feel a growing eagerness to show this charming and largely uncovered world to the public and, through these efforts, to boost the awareness of preserving marine life as the responsibility of everyone living on this planet. Underwater photography is totally different from photography on land. To take a good underwater picture, one has to possess a great diversity of elements working simultaneously. Besides good diving techniques, fine weather, clear water and good photo equipment like Nikon, luck is a pre-requisite in encounters with interesting and rare undersea creatures. Most of my underwater pictures shown here were mainly taken in the waters of South East Asia, particularly in the Philippines and Malaysia. E-mail: rubinchuastudio@yahoo.com |
