To me, scuba-diving is very relaxing. (Of course, there are times when you find yourself finning madly against strong currents, but usually it is not that strenuous.) It is a good way to get away from our everyday chores and re-align ourselves with the proper perspectives. Being in touch with nature always reminds me that there is more to life than the complicated issues that hit us on a daily basis. The underwater world tells the story of creation vividly in its witness of God's wisdom and wonders. "And God said, 'Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky.' So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living and moving thing with which the water teems, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. God blessed them and said, 'Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth.'" Genesis 1:20-22 Although I love nature photography, I sincerely hope that our next generation will not be left with just the pictures of these creations. Let's make an effort to preserve the abundance that God meant for all of us. E-mail: michelemak@netvigator.com |
